Hey there!

You know, this past week has really got me thinking about the importance of getting into that elusive state oow. I’ve realized that maintaining a sense of flow in our lives isn’t something that just happens; it’s something we need to actively nurture.

Lately, I’ve been feeling like I’m not hitting that state of flow as consistently as I used to. It’s like I’m just not as productive or fulfilled as I was before. So, I decided to do a little digging into why that might be.

After flipping through my journal, it hit me: I haven’t been sticking to the routines that used to help me get into that flow state. Instead, I’ve been pouring all my energy into building my website, a project I’ve been putting off for far too long.

There were a few reasons why I kept procrastinating on it.

1. I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted for the site,

2. I didn’t know how to achieve my goals, partly because my end vision for the website flow, the design, user experience is unclear.

3. The thought of diving into something new without immediate progress was daunting.

But I’ve come to realize that the fear of feeling unproductive was holding me back, I need to accept the reality when starting sometime new and totally alien will feels like this. So to stop procrastinating and do other “stuff”, to keep me busy and feeling like I am getting things done, I’ve decided to prioritize my website and put all my other projects on hold.

This shift has made me realize just how crucial it is to maintain routines that foster that sense of flow and fulfillment in our lives.

Why? Because as I lean in to focus on hard things, I over compensate for it and started to neglect routine that help me get into State of Flow & Fulfilment. Plus the increase in stress of facing HARD STUFF also increase my Stress Level high enough that it tip slightly off from that sweet spot of “Challenge & Skill” to sustain State of Flow.

My plan of action to get back into SOFF.

So, I’ve made a list of things I need to focus on more,
Morning – Sunlight, Sweat, Inspiration (gotten from my usual steady state cardio n podcast listening)
Through out the day – Create more Gaps for Deep Work & Work Consistently into things that gives sense of progress (which give a feedback loop sense of achievement & fulfillment )
Quality Family Time instead of “Filler” Family Time (being there physically but mind n soul being elsewhere)
Rest & Recharge – Mindless moment to recharge (via Mindfulness Exercise rather than Mindless Media Consumption)

Dentistry Insight: Embracing Dental Photography

Now, let’s talk dentistry! One area of my practice that I’ve been neglecting is dental photography. I’ve been using a subpar camera setup after buying a budget phone after my previous workphone went Kaput!.
And it’s been impacting my ability to appreciate the results of my work (Especially after a great results). I am sure some can relate with this experience

After months of procrastination, I finally bit the bullet and invested in some new gear—a Sony Macro lens and a lighting system (Fixlite with Godox MF12). And let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer. Having high-quality photos of my work not only helps me appreciate it and derive sense of achievement and fulfilment (compounding SOFF)

Non-Dental Insight: Learning from Alex Harmozi

I recently stumbled upon a recent video by Alex Harmozi, where he shares what he learnt from a few global superstar Influencer..

Let me tell you, the insights he shares are pure gold. His journey to mastery is incredibly inspiring, and it’s reminded me of the importance of putting in the time and effort to develop our skills.

I watch the whole near 1 hour long video in 1 sitting, taking copious notes .

What I’m Enjoying This Week: Dune Part 2
And finally, on the entertainment front, I’m eagerly anticipating the release of Dune Part 2. I absolutely loved the first movie, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes next. It’s the kind of film that leaves you thinking long after the credits roll.

Well, that’s all from me for now. Until next time!
